| Bio: | ![]() I'm a Professional Shit Disturber. Mama always said that if I didn't study hard I would clean toilets. Toilets are only one of my professional duties. This is my career. I love the look on peoples faces when my friends defend me saying this. 'cause my friends know that I'm the guy who snakes the sewers. That's exactly what I do for a living; clear mains to the city, clear tubs, kitchens, etc. Don't ask me if Draino works, nobody calls when it does, only when it doesn't. I try to show up soon after a call because of these miracles. I mean it's just good business to be quick anyway, but clogs do have an annoying habit of clearing themselves as the obstruction deteriorates is the enviroment of the sewer pipes, or they dislodge themselves. Very black greasey obstruction are a pain to clear sometimes. The blacker and greasier the worse it is, and not just for the mess it is to clean up. But the cable can go out a zillion feet, right through the obstruction, without the obstruction clearing. Like sticking your finger in soft butter. Pull it out and there is no hole. Grease is a common obstruction because it's all grease. If you eat it, it's grease. Not just pouring down bacon fat, but vegetables, everything, leave it alone long enough to rot it'll break down into grease. Soap is made of grease. Detergent (even Zest) is petroleum based grease. Liquid soap, for some reason, is worse then bar soap. If it's a tub drain I'm assuming it's partially an obstruction of hair and soap-scum (grease) and the best way to get snake that out is patience. Snake back and forth, back and forth, the water will drain a little, fill it up a little, and back and forth til it drains really well. It helps to have a fixture that is working normal to be running, so to wash it downstream. You can try draino for maintenance, but I suggest vinegar as it won't stain chrome or stainless steel, it's a good degreaser, and a milder acid. Throw a gallon down your kitchen sink and tub next time you go away. The longer it can sit the better (remember it's very mild) Most of it will drain away, but if it pools, it'll pool likely where grease has pooled. You can try using baking soda and washing it down with vinegar. Careful it'll foam like those volcanos you made for science back in highschool. But the theory is it'll cause the vinegar to reach the entire diameter of the pipe. And always try to use as much water as possible during the day. Fill up fixtures and pull the plug, as opposed to just running the faucet. That way you get to notice your swirl and when it acts different you'll know to do something, whether it's to try a chemical drain opener or call Roto-rooter. And full sinks draining will push through as much volume as the drainpipes will take, and pull stuff sitting in the valleys of the pipes. As an old house settles, the drains are no longer a gentle slope out, but rather a tame rollercoaster. Ok, that's it from your friendly neighbourhood shit disturber ![]() I AM Canadian!!! Sacrifice is the greatest glory. Hold fast! "The society which scorns excellence in plumbing as a humble activity and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because it is an exalted activity will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy: neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water." -John W. Gardner 10/08/1912 - 02/16/2002 "This part of the country seems to have all hell for a basement, and the only trap door appears to be in Medicine Hat" -Rudyard Kipling "Globalization is nobodies conspiracy; it's the order of the day, But if you want to take it in the right direction, you must get the poor involved so the rich don't monopolize it." -Muhammad Yummi, prof. of economics Vanderbilt University, president of Grameen Bank, micro-credit investor "Sure, I was arrested once... for assaulting an officer. It was a bitch slap really. How was I supposed to know he was a bleeder? I mean he was a cop for cripes sake!" -Coach Buttermaker of the Bad News Bears "People shouldn't fear their governments, governments should fear their people." -V for Vendetta "How come we don't do Heroin anymore?" -Lou Reed Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature. -Tom Robbins "I don't believe in charity. I believe in solidarity. Charity is so vertical. I goes from the top to the bottom. Solidarity is horizontal. It respects the other person. I have a lot to learn from other people." - Eduardo Galeano "I have all the money I'll ever need (if I die by four o'clock)" -Henny Youngman "The party system aborts democracy" -Mommar Qadaffi, Leader of Libya, the world's only true democracy "Without firing a shot, we will kill one-fifth of all species of life on this planet in the next 20 years." -Russell E. Train, World Wildlife Fund Irony is the only weapon on my shelf. (Not true, I just like the saying) "I like my coffee as black and proud as Jack Johnson. And my eggs bruised and runny, just like Jim Jeffries" -patron of a diner in 1911 "If you own a carpet, then you have too much." -Jack Kerouac "Pride is the sire of all sin." -St Thomas Aquinas "Servitude always points people to God." -Billy Graham "Revenge is a bucket with a hole. You can fill it but it soon holds nothing." -Kung Fu Young "An election is not the place to discuss politics." -Kim Campbell "Facts may change, but my opinion is unwavering" -Steve Colbert "There comes a time in the affairs of a man when he has to take the bull by the tail and face the situation." -WC Fields "There's something about the outside of a horse that's good for the inside of a man" -Winston Churchill "If I ever found a church that didn't believe in knocking all the other churches, I might consider joining it." -Edgar Bergen "It's the second mouse that gets the cheese." -Steven Wright "Ask and Ye shall recieve" -God "Basicly it's a 2000 mile race that is often won by less then a minute, and that minute can come at any second" -Lance Armstrong ![]() Never compromise yourself, your emotions, or your gut insticts.
